Mount Dora Christian Academy’s baseball team will be the first to take the field this week at FHSAA state championships at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers.
The Bulldogs (22-6) face Orange Park’s St Johns Country Day (23-6) in a Class 2A semifinal Wednesday at 10 a.m. The winner will play either Sarasota’s Out-of-Door Academy (22-3) or Lake Worth Trinity Christian (17-7-2) in a Thursday state final.
MDCA is vying for the school’s third state championship this spring after the track and field team claimed the Class 1A team title earlier this month in Jacksonville. Mount Dora Christian’s softball team plays in a state semifinal in Clermont on Tuesday.
