The Montreal Impact officially announced the signing of preseason trialist Steeven Saba. The Haitian midfielder put pen to paper on a one-year contract with options for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Saba played the last two seasons with Violette Athletic Club in the Haitian first division. At 26 years-old, Saba signed his first professional contract outside of his home country.
“It’s amazing. It’s something that I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid,” Saba said during the Impact’s launch party last Friday. “I’m leaving Haiti where you don’t have a lot of opportunities and I had the chance, the coaches gave me the chance.
