Major League Soccer is reportedly altering plans for a tournament in Orlando, reducing how much time players could potentially be separated from their families.
The league is looking to keep teams in their home markets until June 21 before competing in a tournament at tournament ESPN World Wide World of Sports on Disney World property, according to a report by ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle.
The teams previously were expected to travel to Orlando in early June for testing and several weeks of training, keeping them away from their home markets for more than 10 weeks. This upset players, who were concerned about spending more than two months away from their children and spouses.
