ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota United FC announced the trade of centerback Wyatt Omsberg to Chicago Fire FC in exchange for Raheem Edwards. Edwards will occupy an international roster spot with Minnesota.
Omsberg was selected 15th overall out of Dartmouth by Minnesota in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft via a draft pick that was originally Chicago’s, but was included in a package that sent the fifth-overall pick, $175,000 in combined allocation money and goalkeeper Matt Lampson to Minnesota.
Omsberg has made 27 professional appearances since 2018, including a pair of loan stints, playing four games for the Tulsa Roughnecks in the USL Championship as a rookie, and 15 games for Minnesota’s USL League One-affiliate Forward Madison, last season.
