Regarding Mike Bianchi’s sports column, “College football fans could decide whether Trump gets re-elected” (Sept. 2), sports readers don’t turn to the Sentinel’s sports section to get a lecture about Trump’s political motives. There is enough of that to consume in other sections of the paper.
Arguably, sports are an escape. I think I speak for most sports fan readers that the Sentinel sports section is a respite from the politics and the problems of the world. Regardless of a reader’s politics, Bianchi’s column and his opinion on Trump’s motives belong in the opinion section of the Sentinel, not the sports section.
