More than 24 hours after the final College Football Playoff rankings were released, American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco was still upset.
After watching undefeated Cincinnati drop in the rankings the previous two weeks, Aresco beseeched the 13-member playoff selection committee to take a closer look at the Bearcats while determining the four semifinalists who will have a chance to play for a national championship.
“I asked the committee to do some soul searching and I don’t think they did any,” Aresco told the Orlando Sentinel Monday.
“This year, they just kept moving the goal posts,” Aresco said.
