The Miami Hurricanes got their first commitment from an inside linebacker in the 2021 recruiting class on Wednesday night when Orlando Edgewater three-star prospect Deshawn Troutman gave UM his pledge.
Troutman also had Florida State, Louisville and West Virginia among his offers. He is the nation’s No. 32-ranked inside linebacker, according to 247 Sports, and unranked by Rivals, which also gives him a three-star rating.
Troutman joins a pair of outside linebackers in Miami’s 2021 class in Miami Killian’s Tyler Johnson and Miami Northwestern’s Ja’Corey Hammett.
Troutman brings the Hurricanes’ recruiting class up to 14 commitments.
