The Miami Hurricanes didn’t need the momentum from their upcoming pool party for recruits to land a commitment from one of their top targets.
Four-star cornerback Tre’Quon Fegans out of Thompson High School (Alabaster, Ala.). announced his pledge to Miami’s 2022 recruiting class during an Instagram live on Friday.
Fegans, who 247Sports ranks as the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and No. 4 player out of Alabama, is UM’s second-highest rated commitment so far based on 247Sports composite score (0.9647) in the website’s database, only behind fellow four-star cornerback Khamauri Rogers (0.9734).
His main recruiters on the Hurricanes’ coaching staff were cornerbacks coach Demarcus Van Dyke and defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson, both of whom are entering their first season with Miami in their respective roles.
