Despite Mark Pope’s struggles returning punts this season, the Miami Hurricanes continue to list him atop the depth chart at punt returner.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that, come Saturday, when No. 7 Miami faces off with No. 1 Clemson, that he will indeed be back there the first time the Tigers set up to punt.
“Our Monday depth chart is not our Saturday depth chart,” UM coach Manny Diaz said on Tuesday. “We are still working on that this week in practice, in terms of who will be our first punt returner. We’ve got different guys.”
After Pope, the Hurricanes list junior safety Gurvan Hall and freshman receiver Xavier Restrepo as punt returners on the depth chart.
