The Miami Dolphins addressed one of the roster’s problematic areas by re-signing linebacker Elandon Roberts on Wednesday, ensuring that a team captain who suffered a serious knee injury late last season returns.
The terms of the new deal weren’t disclosed, but it’s likely that Roberts was given another deal similar to the one-year, $2 million contract he received last offseason when he left the New England Patriots to join Brian Flores’ Dolphins.
Roberts quickly worked his way up Miami’s depth chart and became a team captain by outperforming Raekwon McMillan, earning the starting inside linebacker role in Miami’s defense.
