Maddy Evans has quietly played a key role for the Orlando Pride.
Evans, a 25-year-old versatile midfielder and defender, is one of 13 Pride players who have competed in the past for other National Women's Soccer League teams.
So far this season, Evans has logged 249 minutes for Orlando, playing in five of the team's seven games and starting three times.
"[She's been] fantastic," Pride coach Tom Sermanni said of Evans. "She's got a great work rate, she continually, you know, breaks down the opposition attacks, sets up her attacks and … gives us a factor in there that some of the other playmaking players don't give us and that's an important balance for our midfield.
