GAINESVILLE — The FHSAA 16-member board has filed into a hotel ballroom in Gainesville as they prepare to make pivotal decisions about Florida high school fall, winter and spring sports calendars.
Florida is locked in a spirited debate over when to kick off football practices and games. Lighter COVID-19 case loads in the north and much heavier virus spread in the south and in major cities around the state have added to the intense debate.
The meeting at Best Western Gateway Grand is being held in front of a small crowd due to Alachua County coronavirus guidelines.
