Lions winger Chris Mueller will part with the club after four years in Orlando at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
Mueller signed a pre-contract with a European club and will join the team after the MLS season ends. The winger will remain with the Lions through the postseason regardless of when his new club’s season begins as he completes his original contract with the Lions.
FIFA regulations allow players to sign a pre-contract with a new team six months before the expiration of their current contract. Mueller was eyeing a potential midseason transfer to a Belgian team according to a report from the Athletic, but ultimately settled on the pre-contract process.
