The Lakeland Magic added their name to the list of professional sports teams in Florida with a championship after beating the Delaware Blue Coats 97-78 Thursday to win the 2021 NBA G League title.
Devin Cannady finished with 22 points and the Magic — the Orlando Magic’s G-League affiliate — limited the Blue Coats to 31% shooting in the victory at ESPN Wide World of Sports’ AdventHealth Arena.
The title run has been four years in the making for Lakeland, which outscored its three playoff opponents by an average of 20 points. They join, of course, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as league champions.
