Lake Nona sailed to a 40-6 victory over East River on Friday night in the Battle of the Beachline high school football rivalry.
Kaden Sheilds rushed for two touchdowns in the third quarter, including a 33-yarder that forced a running clock with the Lions leading 40-0 entering the fourth quarter.
“I’ve been at Lake Nona, I’ve seen every game, every rivalry, they always play us tough,” Lake Nona head coach Anthony Paradiso said about East River after the game. “Always a good rivalry game.”
A Lake Nona pass was picked off by East River’s Elijah Ortiz on the first drive of the game.
