Lake Mary High School’s Sierra Poole had her big brother by her side all the way in Thursday’s final day of the Florida High School Athletic Association state bowling tournament in Orlando.
With Robert, a former boys bowling state runner-up for the Rams, home from college for the weekend to provide plenty of advice and encouragement, Sierra clawed her way out of the consolation bracket with seven consecutive match wins over two days to claim the state championship.
“He’s come to my state tournament every year and having him here meant everything,” Sierra said of Robert’s guidance.
