ALTAMOTE SPRINGS – It’s been 30 years since Scott Perry’s senior high school football season ended in defeat against a bitter rival.
That memory resurfaced Friday night as Perry, in his 17th season as head coach at Lake Mary, led the Rams (3-0) to a decisive 38-6 win at neighboring Lake Brantley (2-1).
“I played in this game,” Perry recalled afterward. “I remember being exhausted on this field at the end of my senior year [in 1991] after losing the district championship 14 to 13. We missed an extra point and two field goals.”
There was no such letdown Friday as Lake Mary, ranked No.
