High school boys and girls soccer teams braved cold and windy conditions Monday night and turned in thrilling finishes to kick off the start of district tournament play.
The Geneva School (4-6-4) avenged a regular season loss at Faith Christian (10-6-0) during a 1-0 upset win while International Community School (11-5-0) held off The Master’s Academy (5-5-2) for a 2-1 decision in Class 2A District 5.
Junior Elias Clark scored on a header with nearly 15 minutes to play vs. Faith on a feed from Jarrett Brodrecht, which helped set off a brief celebration by the Knights.
