Nicole Swindle served seven aces, and eighth-grader Kayden Green had 16 kills to help Lake Highland Prep beat Bishop Moore 25-9, 27-25, 25-12 in a Class 4A, Region 3 girls volleyball semifinal on Tuesday night.
The Highlanders (13-4) handled the Hornets (12-5) for the fourth time in five matches this year, and lethal serving was the key. Swindle had three first-game aces and four more in the third set. She served three consecutive aces during a 7-0 run that closed out the match for the reigning state champions.
“We might make a lot of errors in serving, but our aces are double it because of the risks we’re taking with serving,” Gallagher said.
