Lake Highland Prep and Bishop Moore share the Central Florida record for girls volleyball state championships with The First Academy.
The Highlanders and Hornets both have a chance to break that tie going into their Class 4A region semifinal showdown on Tuesday night. Lake Highland, last season’s 4A state champ, hosts Bishop Moore on Tuesday night at 7. Both teams have 12-4 records but the Highlanders beat Bishop Moore in three of their four previous matches this season.
In an Oct. 15 district final at Bishop Moore the Highlanders lost the first set to the Hornets 25-17 but bounced back to win the next three 25-17, 25-19 and 25-18.
