Defender Tristan Blackmon is going to be sticking around Los Angeles for a little while.
Los Angeles FC announced Wednesday that it and the 23-year-old defender had agreed to a contract extension through the 2022 season, with a club option for the 2023 campaign.
Specifics of the contract weren’t released, but it’s likely that Blackmon got a raise. According to figures released by the MLS Players Association, he was the seventh lowest paid player on LAFC’s roster in 2019, earning a guaranteed compensation of $72,983.
“We are grateful to have agreed to a contract extension with Tristan that will keep him with us for the foreseeable future,” LAFC general manager John Thorrington said in a statement.
