LITHIA — Ja’Randy Swint rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown and Kissimmee Osceola’s tough defense paved the way for a 17-7 road win over Newsome High School in Friday night’s Class 8A Region 4 football final.
Leading by just seven at the half, the Kowboys (8-2) dominated the second half, allowing just seven points on a long tipped pass that went 57 yards for a touchdown for the Wolves (7-3).
Osceola scored 14 of its points off turnovers, as it intercepted Newsome quarterback Kamari Austin three times and also held on downs three times. Junior defensive back Jerry Wilson, who tipped the pass that went for the Newsome score, had two of those picks for the Kowboys.
