Former Miami All-American and NFL All-Pro Kenard Lang sounded almost giddy while discussing his latest challenge.
Lang, a former Orlando Evans High star who helped the Trojans to a state title as a player in 1991, has been named the new head football coach of his alma mater.
Lang, who was FIU’s defensive line coach for the past three seasons, said his decision to leave the Panthers was not difficult. Returning home for Lang meant not only coaching his high school team, but being closer to his family. His parents still live in Orlando.
