Maybe Miami’s been doomed for picking Jake Long over Matt Ryan in 2008, or this is the byproduct of Bullygate saga caused by Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin’s toxic relationship, or the Chris Foerster white-powdery-substance drama in 2018.
I don’t know when it started, or who exactly jinxed the Dolphins offensive linemen, but no matter who coaches the unit, or who plays in it, this group has struggled annually for nearly two decades, with two exceptions.
The Dolphins possessed a reliable offensive line in 2008, and a forceful one in 2016. And those were coincidentally the only seasons Miami produced a winning record and qualified for the postseason the past two decades.
