MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins secondary spent the past two weeks of training camp getting shredded like a block of mozzarella cheese would at your favorite pizza shop.
Not having Xavien Howard on the field much didn’t help, but now that his contract saga is over after the Dolphins re-worked the deal — improving the compensation for the two-time Pro Bowler — it will be interesting to see if Howard can help the secondary eliminate the big offensive plays that have consistently occurred each day.
At least the Dolphins can put their focus elsewhere now that Howard’s in the fold, possibly getting back to being the stingy and opportunistic secondary Miami possessed in 2020.
