Kelly: Ten takeaways from Dolphins-Bears preseason game | Analysis

CHICAGO — It were as if Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins coaching staff wanted the team’s first preseason game to feature as much adversity as they could manufacture.

First they pulled Tua Tagovailoa after his only bad pass of the day led to an end zone interception in the second quarter. There would be no shot at gaining redemption.

Then when the Chicago Bears took a second-half lead Miami’s coaches pulled Jacoby Brissett, the team’s backup quarterback, and let the third-team offense finish out Saturday’s 20-13 loss to the Bears.

The exhibition season is supposed to help teams work on their issues and improve their overall performance, getting them ready for the regular season — and the Dolphins have plenty to fix.
