The Miami Hurricanes are far behind schedule on what a recruiting class should look like at this point in a recruiting cycle as the calendar shifts from May to June.
Miami added just its second commitment to the 2022 class when Gainesville-based wide receiver Quan Lee made his pledge to the Hurricanes on Wednesday, joining Georgia quarterback Jacurri Brown. UM had others previously committed in the class that backed off in defensive linemen Jamaal Johnson from Chaminade-Madonna and Brandon Cleveland from Tampa Carrollwood Day.
But recruiting has been slow for many college programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recruiting dead period to come from it, restricting prospects’ ability to visit college campuses and college coaches’ chances to communicate with recruits in person.
