The Beast was named more than a decade ago by the president of Spain's oldest soccer club.
Júlio Baptista, then a rising young soccer star, played for Sevilla FC from 2003-05 when the team's president bestowed upon him the friendly nickname because of his athletic build.
It has endured nearly 13 years, but Baptista's friendship with Kaká has lasted even longer.
The two began their careers together playing for hometown side, São Paulo FC, in Brazil in 2001. There, a friendship was forged that eventually led Baptista, 34, to Orlando City.
"I know [MLS] is growing a lot, and I was very excited to have this opportunity," Baptista (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) said through a translator in his first interview with Orlando media Wednesday.
