Orlando City B midfielder Jordan Schweitzer made history for the USL club this past weekend. The 23-year-old was called up for the Canadian National Team for a friendly against El Salvador. Along with Orlando’s MLS striker Cyle Larin, Schweitzer spent a number of days training with Canada up until their match on Sunday. He made the bench for the match, but did not manage to get into the game.
“Any opportunity to represent your national team and, for me, the place where my parents were born, obviously it’s a proud moment,” Schweitzer said of being called up. “But, it’s one that you want to make the most of and take in everything in from being around the guys, the staff and just try to take in as much of the experience and that’s what I tried to do.
