Jets fall to 0-4 with wild loss to Broncos team that tried to gift them the win

For three quarters, it looked like the Jets were going to get blown out by the hapless Denver Broncos in their 37-28 loss. The Broncos were starting Brett Rypien, their third-string quarterback, and he absolutely lit them up through three quarters of play.

Through three quarters, Rypien had completed 15 of his 21 passes for 187 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Denver was poised to run away with the game, establishing a 27-16 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Pierre Desir grabbed a pick-six to cut the lead from 27-25 and then Brian Poole intercepted Rypien deep in Broncos territory to set up Sam Ficken’s fifth field goal of the game to give the Jets a 28-27 lead.
