With darkness approaching and her 3-year-old goldendoodle, Charlie, waiting back at their Orlando hotel room, golfer Jessica Korda was ready to wrap up, pack up and head home to Bradenton.
A 25-foot putt similar to the one she’d left short just 15 minutes earlier stood in Korda’s way. This time, the 27-year-old left nothing to chance Sunday evening at the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club.
Korda drained the birdie effort on the par-3 18th hole, pumped her right fist and yelled, “C’mon!” during the opening hole of a sudden-death playoff at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions.
