American striker Juan Agudelo is headed to Inter Miami CF.
Miami, an expansion club which will play its inaugural season in 2020, acquired Agudelo by trading a third-round pick in the 2021 MLS Superdraft to Toronto FC Saturday afternoon.
“Juan has several years of experience in and out of this league and still has a lot to give,” Inter Miami sporting director Paul McDonough said in a prepared statement. “He has shown that he’s a very talented player and we feel he will add valuable depth to our squad.”
Toronto selected Agudelo, 27, in the second round of the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft in November after the New England Revolution declined his contract option for next season.
