Here are some quick thoughts from South Florida Sun Sentinel staffers on the Miami Dolphins’ first-round picks in the 2021 NFL draft:
Jaylen Waddle brings electricity to an offense needing some. He brings help to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. No debate about that. The debate is if the Dolphins traded down from No. 3 to No. 6 for essentially a first-round pick in 2023 and lost out on a generational talent in Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. Or a better receiver in Ja’Marr Chase.
Jaylen Waddle moves at a different speed than everyone else on the football field.
