When Carlos Rivas rolled his ankle at training earlier this week, the howl of pain he let out could be heard from the opposite end of the field.
Orlando City coach Adrian Heath said it sounded like Rivas had been "hit by a sniper" and the coach feared the worst.
But the 21-year-old winger has made what Heath termed a miraculous recovery in the last three days, and could be available for selection in time for the Lions' season opener against Real Salt Lake at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Citrus Bowl. Previously it was reported that Rivas would not be available.
