LAS VEGAS — Clamps? Sutures? The Dolphins offense was bleeding, openly and chaotically, and the season about to hemorrhage in a messy manner as Sunday stumbled to an ugly end.
Right? Isn’t that how everyone saw it as Vegas led comfortably deep into the fourth quarter? When third- and fourth-and-1 runs were stopped by Vegas in the final minutes Sunday, that sealed it. Right?
But then, lo and behold, after the Dolphins defense got the ball back something unseen this year happened. Some offense broke out. Some glimmer of something. Maybe.
Desperate and defiant, quarterback Jacoby Brissett converted on a fourth-and-8, dove across for the touchdown on fourth down with two seconds left and completed a pass to Will Fuller for the two-point conversion.
