The ascendence of sophomore cornerback Te’Cory Couch into the starting lineup last time the Miami Hurricanes played at Virginia Tech on Nov. 14 serves as reassurance that UM coaches are comfortable elevating a deserving younger player over experienced upperclassmen on the depth chart.
There’s no question Couch’s development as a freshman out of Chaminade-Madonna during the 2019 season had much to do with his progress to get to this point.
“I think both of those guys are really starting to develop,” defensive coordinator Blake Baker said on Monday of Clarke, the former three-star recruit from Winter Park in Central Florida, and Dunson, a Georgia-based four-star prospect.
