Brevin Jordan was one of three finalists last year for the John Mackey Award, which honors the nation’s top college tight end, and the other two went on to the NFL.
Some might think that automatically elevates the Miami Hurricanes junior as the frontrunner for the award in 2020, but Jordan humbly deflects the notion that he’s the nation’s best at his position.
“I don’t think I’m the best tight end in the country because I couldn’t stay on the field last year,” said Jordan in a Friday night post-practice web conference with reporters. “You can’t prove you are the best if you can’t be on the court, on the field, in the ring, wherever it is.
