Hurricane Matthew is hours away from Florida's east coast, and Orlando City is among the many sports teams and organizations in Central Florida already feeling the impact.
With a possible landfall in Brevard County expected to bring extreme conditions to Central Florida, beginning Thursday night and extending into Friday, Orlando City canceled its MLS training sessions Friday and Saturday.
The club also postponed its annual awards gala. Originally scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, it now will be held Oct. 30.
"So sorry to have to reschedule," read a post on the Twitter account of Orlando City co-founder Kay Rawlins, who also serves as the vice president of community relations and president of the Orlando City foundation.
