The recruiting picture didn’t always look so rosy for the Miami Hurricanes — not after they finished the 2019 season at 6-7 with three consecutive disappointing losses to FIU, Duke and Louisiana Tech.
Receivers Romello Brinson and Jacolby George backed off of their original commitments. Running back Thaddius Franklin went back and forth on his pledge twice. Defensive tackle Leonard Taylor publicly said he couldn’t go to the Hurricanes after they lost to FIU. Safety James Williams once released a final list of schools that excluded UM. Quarterback Jake Garcia was committed to USC for 15 months.
They all ended up in Miami’s 2021 class, signing on Wednesday during the first day of the Early Signing Period.
