Seminole High senior Dawson Joyce can equal a Florida High School Athletic Association record if he wins two more state swimming individual championships this fall. That would give the strapping swimmer an unprecedented clean sweep of eight victories in eight individual state finals for his four-year prep career.
But Joyce, who committed a year ago to sign with UF, missed much of his normal summer training after suffering injuries while playing baseball for Seminole last spring. SHS swim coach Tony Ackerson said Joyce suffered a dislocated shoulder and torn labrum while making a diving catch in the outfield.
