The Miami Heat upgraded their wing depth at a nominal cost Wednesday with the acquisition of veteran forward Trevor Ariza from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Ariza could be available to the Heat as soon as Friday’s game against the Indiana Pacers at AmericanAirlines Arena, having begun NBA-mandated COVID-19 testing ahead of the trade.
“I feel like I’ve said this before about certain guys, but he’s a guy that we’ve really respected and liked the thought that he would be a great fit in our organization, our culture, the way we play,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said before Wednesday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum.
