The blind draw that determined Florida’s upcoming girls volleyball district tournament matchups was not kind to Hagerty, last year’s Class 7A state champ, or Timber Creek, which joins the Huskies as one of the top teams in Central Florida this season.
They drew the No. 2 and 3 seeds, respectively, in a three-team district and will meet in the opening round of the revamped state playoffs in two weeks. All of their postseason hopes will be hanging in the balance.
Orlando University, which started 2-6 this season and has not enjoyed a winning season since 2012 according to its MaxPreps account, landed the top seed for Class 7A, District 3.
