Hagerty’s baseball team has come a long way since losing its first seven games to start the 2021 season.
The Huskies, winners in eight of their past 10 outings since March 30, play for a district championship for the seventh year in a row this week after pulling out an upset win over nationally ranked Winter Park.
No. 4 seed Hagerty (14-11) prevailed 2-1 against the top-seeded Wildcats (23-2) on Wednesday in a Class 7A District 3 semifinal. The Huskies face city rival Oviedo (18-8) in a district final on Friday at 7 p.m. at Timber Creek High School.
