Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Savage couldn't pass up chance to play for Orlando Pride

Orlando Pride coach Tom Sermanni spent weeks looking for a goalkeeper.

The team desperately needed one since June 17 when the club announced backup goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe would miss the rest of the season due to a left fibula fracture.

As the weeks went by, the team moved closer to international call-ups, when the Pride would lose starting goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris to the U.S. Women's National Team.

"It was a difficult process," Sermanni said. "We had quite few options on the board because the reality is most of the goalkeepers that we wanted to bring in for this particular circumstance were actually playing, so it was difficult in the sense of, you know, getting somebody that was available and able and ready to come.
