GAINESVILLE — Florida Gators forward Keyontae Johnson has been transferred to UF Health in Gainesville and remains in critical condition but stable condition following his collapse during Saturday’s game at Florida State.
UF released an update Monday on Johnson’s medical status, noting he is “following simple commands and undergoing further tests.”
USA Today reported Johnson’s grandfather, Larry DeJarnett, said the 21-year-old basketball star had been placed in a medically induced coma.
The hope, DeJarnett said, was doctors would bring Johnson out of his coma once he was situated at UF Health.
“They’re just not sure,” DeJarnett told USA Today Sports.
