GAINESVILLE — The Florida Gators entered 2021 as the nation’s top-ranked team yet rarely have they looked the part, beginning with the season’s opening weekend.
Coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s squad hopes college baseball’s most exciting month and the promise of a packed house for the first time at the team’s swanky Florida Ballpark can provide the push UF needs to reach the College World Series.
The first step arrives noon Friday when the Gators (38-20) host USF (28-27) in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament’s Gainesville Regional.
“I feel really good about our team, I really do,” O’Sullivan said Thursday.
