After seeing his team quarantined three different times this season due to COVID-19 issues, Kissimmee Gateway boys basketball coach Travis James is taking no more chances. He opted to not schedule any more regular season games this week even though his Panthers have played only 10 times.
The Panthers finished an 8-2 regular season with a 65-63 loss to rival Kissimmee Osceola last Thursday. Gateway’s earlier loss was also to the Kowboys, 58-54.
“We are playing this week safe and not playing,” James said. “I have had teams reach out to me to play but we denied them for that simple reason.
