It was an inauspicious start to the football season for Florida State as lightning delayed the Seminoles’ game against Georgia Tech twice.
The Seminoles were on the field beginning their warm-ups when the players were called off the field because of concerns about lightning in the area.
Players from both teams returned to the field at around 3:15 p.m., with Florida State in full uniform as they resumed their pregame warm-up.
The second delay came at the 8:05 mark in the first quarter moments after Florida State quarterback James Blackman connected with junior Keyshawn Helton on the right side of the end zone for the first score of the season.
