Former Florida State running back Cam Akers becomes the latest Seminole to find his way to the NFL after the Los Angeles Rams selected Akers in the second round of the draft with the No. 52 overall pick.
He becomes the ninth FSU running back selected in the NFL draft since 2000, joining Dalvin Cook (2017), Karlos Williams (2015), Devonta Freeman (2014), Chris Thompson (2013), Lorenzo Booker (2007), Leon Washington (2006), Greg Jones (2004) and Travis Minor (2001).
“A kid who can make defenders miss and break tackles,” ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said. “I love the way he lowers his shoulder on contact.
