Tate Rodemaker‘s first season as a quarterback at Florida State was an up-and-down affair that featured a lot of on-the-job training.
Rodemaker went from a heralded high school prospect to becoming the fourth true freshman in program history to start a game when he took the field against Jacksonville State in the third game of the season.
“That’s a guy who showed up last year, didn’t have spring ball and then all of a sudden was the starter,” FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham said. “You don’t have a spring ball, and fall camp comes and you’re the third-string guy — and in Week 3 you’re starting.
